In an effort to ensure we have adequate communications between the pit and the car we have standardized our voice communications to UHF radios operating in a DMR (Digital Mobile Radio). DMR radio was originally developed for public safety, but it has been adopted by amateur radio operators as well.
DMR gives us better audio quality, and more flexibility in comms, while also allowing us to operate with a little more freedom from interference as DMR isn't as common around tracks as analog FM radios.

Additionally some of our team members operate Anytone 568uv-II mobile radios to improve range in particularly difficult RF environments such as Thompson.
